Rembrandt masterpiece on display in Poland's Kraków: audio report

"The Polish Rider," a famous painting by the 17th-century Dutch artist Rembrandt van Rijn, is on display at Wawel Castle in the southern Polish city of Kraków from Thursday.

The Polish Rider was previously exhibited at the Royal Łazienki Museum in Warsaw.

The work forms the centrepiece of an exhibition entitled “The King’s Rembrandt: The Polish Rider from the Frick Collection in New York."

Owned since 1910 by the New York-based museum and research centre, the painting was once part of the extensive art collection of Polish King Stanislaus II Augustus.
