UN member states, including Poland, are obligated under international human rights law to "protect against human rights abuse within their territory and/or jurisdiction by third parties, including business enterprises."

The main conclusion of the Business and Human Rights report, given "the global problems we are facing right now, especially all the problems related to the war in Ukraine, including the energy crisis and the food crisis," is that "always when there is conflict human rights suffer," said Kamil Wyszkowski, Executive Director of the UN Global Compact Network Poland.

"That's the main task for us ... simply to make big business a good force for good things," Wyszkowski told Radio Poland's Danuta Isler.
