During the "European Energy Security: One Year into Russia's War in Ukraine" conference, Oleksandr Antonenko, head of the Energy Efficiency Unit at the International Energy Charter, spoke about the current condition of the Ukrainian energy system, the role of EU-Ukraine cooperation and the importance of energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions in supporting Ukraine's energy transition and energy security.

"The hideous practice of the Russian invaders is that they are not simply attacking energy objects," Antonenko told Radio Poland's Danuta Isler after the conference.
"What they do is, for example, they attack the substation and in this way they influence immediately power supply, water supply, including heat and cold water, and, last but not least, communication and connection," he said.
