They convened on Tuesday for an informal summit in Warsaw to discuss key priorities in these fields.

The gathering marked a significant step toward ensuring stable and predictable funding for European science post-2027.

The ministers emphasized that the EU Framework Programme in this area requires an independent structure and a budget that reflects the scale of today’s challenges.

“Without a strong framework program, it will be difficult to enhance Europe's competitiveness, build technological independence, or support security,” Poland’s Science Minister Marcin Kulasek said at a news conference following the meeting.

“Science and innovation have guided us through many crises, and I am confident they will continue to do so in the future,” he added.

All 27 member states endorsed the so-called Warsaw Declaration proposed by the Polish presidency, calling for independent and effective funding of scientific research and innovation.
