While most people settle property disputes in court, the farmer apparently preferred a more hands-on approach, local media reported.
Armed with a tractor and plough, he carved a long furrow through the newly resurfaced road, claiming the land was his.
Police officers arrived at the scene and caught the man in the act, local police spokeswoman Marzena Szwed said.
"At the prosecutor's request, the court ordered the suspect to be held in pre-trial detention for three months," Szwed told public broadcaster Polish Radio, adding that the man faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.
"The tractor he was driving did not have the mandatory third-party liability insurance, so it was towed to a police impound lot," Szwed said.
