Polish music hits high note as industry surges to record growth

Poland’s music industry is enjoying a remarkable run, having grown by almost 14 percent in the first six months of this year, with the recorded-music market generating more than PLN 515 million (nearly USD 140 million) over that period.

Streaming remains the dominant force but with physical sales coming on stronger while Polish artists take the lion's share of the country's top streaming spots.

The figures were discussed at a conference, held last week by the Polish Society of the Phonographic Industry ZPAV, an event that has typically been a barometer of where the business is going.
