The Mountain Apollo (Parnassius apollo) butterfly species is particularly vulnerable to climate changes as it only lives in very specific conditions—meadows with rocky outcrops in Poland’s southern Pieniny mountains, and on a specific host plant.

Radio Poland’s Elżbieta Krajewska spoke to Paweł Adamski, an associate professor at the Polish Academy of Sciences’ Institute of Nature Conservation in the southern city of Kraków.

Adamski, who is also a member of the Science Council of the Pieniny National Park, has been with the project since its beginning in 1992.
