Poland, others resist proposed cuts in next EU budget

As European Union countries begin high-stakes negotiations over the bloc's next long-term budget, Poland and 15 other member states are pushing back against proposed cuts to spending on regional development and agriculture.

The 16 countries on Monday issued a joint declaration calling for increased funding and challenging proposals put forward by the European Commission last July.
