Figures suggest that Poland's start-up ambitions are backed by a substantial and growing technology ecosystem. Its value was estimated at nearly EUR 60 billion last year, making it the largest in Central and Eastern Europe, according to a report drawn up for the state-run Polish Development Fund (PFR).

"Poland has incredibly skilled engineers and software developers, so I think we're absolutely ready to compete globally," said Aleksandra Łoś, co-founder of Relayn, a platform designed to protect people from the flood of AI-driven communication.

"Fortunately, younger generations are increasingly asking themselves: Why not go to San Francisco and get into Y Combinator?" she added. "More and more young people from Poland are achieving goals that once seemed unimaginable."
