Błaszczak told reporters that the talks had focused on “speeding up the supplies of South Korea’s armaments for the Polish army” due to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

He said: “It’s important that the Polish army is equipped with modern hardware. Tried and tested equipment, such as the equipment produced by South Korea.”

He added: “I will do everything to ensure that as much as possible of this hardware comes to Poland as quickly as possible."

He mentioned infantry fighting vehicles and the Krab (Crab) gun-howitzers, the PAP news agency reported.

Błaszczak also said that Poland’s arms makers would work together with South Korean defence contractors to deliver this equipment to the Polish military.

Monday was day 96 of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
