The new money will be spent on equipment including air defence systems, unmanned aerial vehicles and new electronic warfare equipment, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

“UK weapons, equipment and training are transforming Ukraine's defences against this onslaught,” Johnson said in a statement.

"And we will continue to stand squarely behind the Ukrainian people to ensure Putin fails in Ukraine," he added.

The package takes the UK’s total support for Ukraine to 3.8 billion pounds since the start of the war.

The UK is the second-largest contributor of military support to Ukraine, after the United States, and one of nine NATO members that meet the alliance's target of spending 2 percent of GDP on defence, the PAP news agency reported.
