At a handover ceremony, Poland’s deputy foreign minister, Paweł Jabłoński, said that the donation is part of a far-reaching EU-financed project of support for Ukraine.

The initiative targets 120 municipalities and is operated by Solidarity Fund PL and a Polish national development bank, Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego.

The ambulances are set to replace those that were damaged or stolen by Russians amid the Kremlin’s invasion of Ukraine, Rzeczpospolita wrote.

They are earmarked for municipalities in the war-ravaged oblasts of Chernihiv, Kharkiv, and Sumy.
