At least 3 dead, 15 hurt as Russia rains missiles on Ukraine’s Dnipro: officials

“The rockets hit an industrial plant and a busy street next to it,” the regional governor, Valentyn Rezynchenko, wrote on his Facebook page. "We are determining the extent of the destruction."

The governor estimated that at least three people were dead and 15 hurt as a result of the evening attack, according to the Reuters news agency.

Russian forces fired six missiles at the city and region, of which the Ukrainian army managed to shoot down four, Reznychenko added. 

The Ukrainian air force reported that the Russians fired X-101 missiles from Tupolev-95MS strategic aircraft flying over the Caspian Sea. 

Dnipro is Ukraine’s fourth-largest city with over 1 million residents. 

Also on Friday evening, Ukrainian media reported explosions in the central city of Kremenchuk

Anti-air alerts were issued across Ukraine as Russia stepped up its bombardment, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

Saturday is day 143 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
