One dead, 18 wounded in Russian shelling of Ukraine's Kharkiv

One person died and 18 were wounded in Russia’s shelling of a residential area in the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv on Thursday, according to news reports.

"The Russian occupiers hit a dormitory in the Slobidsky district of Kharkiv City in the morning," Oleh Synehubov, head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration, wrote on the Telegram messaging app, as cited by the Ukrinform news agency.

He added: "As of now, 18 people have been injured, two of them are children. One person was killed."

A day earlier, six people died and another 16 were wounded in a Russian rocket attack on the city, the Reuters news agency reported.
