Meanwhile, 75 percent of respondents believe that the Russian invasion of Ukraine poses a direct threat to Poland’s security, the study by pollster CBOS found.

The survey was carried out from August 14 to 25 on a representative random sample of 1,043 respondents, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

The study also found that 53 percent of Poles were providing support to Ukraine and its people amid the Russian invasion.

More than 6.26 million people have crossed into Poland from Ukraine since the start of the war in late February, the Polish Border Guard agency reported on Wednesday.
