Ukraine’s military command announced the latest figures on social media on Monday, the Ukrainska Pravda website reported.

Ukraine's advance

It came as Ukraine continued its counteroffensive in the northeastern Kharkiv region, as well as offensive operations in the southern Kherson region.

The Ukrainian army said it had regained control over 3,000 square kilometres of land since the start of September, according to news outlets.

This reportedly includes 20 villages retaken in the north east over the past 24 hours, as well as some 500 square kilometres in the Kherson oblast, British broadcaster the BBC reported.

Meanwhile, the Russian army’s losses in matériel now include 2,168 tanks, 14 of which were destroyed in the space of the last 24 hours.

Russian forces have also lost 4,640 armoured personnel vehicles, 1,269 artillery systems and 243 aircraft, among other losses, Ukraine’s General Staff said, as cited by Ukrainska Pravda.
