Russian military death toll in Ukraine rises to 90,090: report

Around 90,090 Russian troops have been killed in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in late February, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 2,916 tanks, 5,883 armoured personnel vehicles and 1,905 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday alone, Ukrainian forces "eliminated" 650 Russian soldiers and destroyed six armoured personnel vehicles and one artillery system, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 395 multiple launch rocket systems, 210 anti-aircraft warfare systems, 280 warplanes, 262 helicopters, 16 warships, and 1,564 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Friday is day 282 of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
