Polish volunteer dies fighting Russia's invasion of Ukraine

A Polish citizen who fought the Russian invasion of Ukraine has passed away in a hospital in Dnipro, a senior Polish official has said.

News of his death was first reported by Polish Cabinet Minister Michał Dworczyk, who said in a tweet on Saturday afternoon: "In the morning, in a hospital in Dnipro, a severely injured Polish volunteer died. It's a tragic week – a total of three of our compatriots fighting on the side of Ukraine have been killed."

Dworczyk added: "Another seriously injured [Polish ed.] volunteer has been transported to Kiev."

Speaking about a Polish volunteer who has been hospitalised with injuries after a Russian shell hit a humanitarian vehicle, the official said "he soon he will be transferred back to the country through Lviv."
