Russian military death toll in Ukraine rises to 173,360: report

Around 173,360 Russian troops have been killed in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February last year, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 3,615 tanks, 6,977 armoured personnel vehicles and 2,675 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday alone, Ukrainian forces "eliminated" 460 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 526 multiple launch rocket systems, 278 air defence systems, 306 warplanes, 291 helicopters, 18 warships, and 2,248 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Friday is day 401 of Russia’s war in Ukraine.
