Addressing the Ukrainian newspaper European Truth, Jaeger stated that the government in Kyiv has been informed of the decision. "Currently, there will be no Taurus missile deliveries to Ukraine," he noted.

However, the ambassador emphasized that Germany is readying a EUR 1 billion aid package for Ukraine, which will comprise vital components to bolster Ukraine's air defense.

"Germany is the leading country investing in Ukraine's air defense," Jaeger added, highlighting the planned provision of an additional Patriot system to Ukraine.

According to media, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has been against sending Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine due to concerns over potential attacks on the Crimean Bridge and fears of a direct clash with Russia.

The need for German personnel on the ground to assist in the missile's operation has also raised concerns. Despite this, some German officials have urged the delivery of missiles to Ukraine to alleviate the ongoing conflict.
