Russian military death toll in Ukraine rises to 322,900: report

Around 322,900 Russian troops have been killed in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February last year, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 5,496 tanks, 10,256 armored combat vehicles and 7,833 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Thursday alone, Ukrainian forces killed 1,110 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 904 multiple launch rocket systems, 595 air defense systems, 323 warplanes, 324 helicopters, 22 warships, and 5,800 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

A top British military official said in the summer that "Russia has lost nearly half the combat effectiveness of its army" since invading Ukraine in February last year.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, launching the largest military conflict in Europe since World War II.

Friday is day 639 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
