Zelensky said in his nightly video address on Tuesday that he held a meeting with Minister of Strategic Industries Oleksandr Kamyshin, who briefed him on the results in the production of drones and ammunition.

"We are ramping up production," Zelensky said, adding that efforts were also underway to ensure "the adoption of new weapon models."

He also stated in his message on Tuesday night that domestic production of military equipment and munitions "is the basis of freedom" for Ukraine and its people amid Russia's invasion.

Zelensky said, as cited by his office: "Domestic production of drones, shells, and military vehicles is literally the production of our freedom, the freedom of Ukrainians and Ukraine. Because in such conditions of a full-scale war, it is force that is the basis of freedom."

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Wednesday is day 707 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
