Ukrainian officials said Russian missiles hit critical infrastructure, damaged residential and commercial buildings, and injured at least six people in different parts of the country.

Russian forces targeted seven Ukrainian regions across the country, including the capital Kyiv, and the cities of Dnipro, Zaporizhzhia and Lviv, the Ukrainian military said, as quoted by the Reuters news agency.

Serhiy Popko, head of the Kyiv military administration, said that Ukraine's air defence shot down all missiles targeting the capital and there was no major damage or casualties in the city, according to Reuters.

In the western city of Lviv, near Ukraine's border with Poland, the Russians hit an infrastructure facility and damaged residential buildings and private cars, according to regional governor Maksym Kozytskyi.

At least two people were injured in the attack, he said.

Infrastructure was also damaged in the Khmelnytskyi region in Ukraine's west and the city of Zaporizhzhia in the southeast, Reuters reported, citing regional officials.

Four people were injured and a school and a retail outlet were also damaged in Zaporizhzhia, city officials said, according to Reuters.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Thursday is day 722 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
