The Russians have also lost 6,758 tanks, 12,949 armored fighting vehicles and 10,580 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Friday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.
On Thursday alone, Ukrainian forces killed 580 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.
Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 1,017 multiple launch rocket systems, 717 air defense systems, 347 warplanes, 325 helicopters, 26 warships, and 8,254 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.
According to a declassified US intelligence report cited by the Reuters news agency in December, the war in Ukraine had resulted in 315,000 dead and injured Russian troops.
The casualty toll accounted for nearly 90 percent of the personnel Russia had when the conflict began, Reuters reported, citing a source familiar with the intelligence.
The report also assessed that Moscow's losses in personnel and armoured vehicles to Ukraine's military have set back Russia’s military modernization by 18 years, according to Reuters.
Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.
Friday is day 751 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
