In an exclusive interview with Radio Poland, Jourová said that Russian President Vladimir Putin might seek to use the upcoming elections to stop European support for Ukraine.

“We need to win these elections in the sense of continuing the support for Ukraine,” Jourová told Radio Poland's Danuta Isler.

She added that Putin "knows very well that we are democracies and that's why he's attacking the minds of people."

“He wants to roll out the red carpet for parties that want to stop the support for Ukraine," Jourová said.

"This will not happen," she added. "I'm sure about that."

During a visit to Warsaw, Jourová on Friday participated in a discussion on the challenges facing Europe this year at the Warsaw European Conversation 2024 conference.

On Thursday, she talked to members of the Polish government about the rule of law and efforts to ensure security during the European Parliament elections scheduled for June.
