Zelenskiy: situation in Pokrovsk and Donetsk frontlines 'extremely difficult'

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy described the situation in the Pokrovsk area and other frontlines in the Donetsk region as "extremely difficult" on Wednesday, following a briefing with the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrsky.

"The commander reported on Pokrovsk and other areas in the Donetsk region. It is extremely difficult there; the key Russian efforts and the largest forces are concentrated in this area," Zelenskiy said.

"The resilience of each of our units and our ability to destroy the occupier are crucial at this moment."

Russian forces are currently positioned approximately 12 kilometers from Pokrovsk, a significant transport hub in the Donetsk region of eastern Ukraine. The area has seen intense fighting as Russian troops focus their main efforts on this section of the front.
