Speaking at the Campus Polska Przyszłości event on Wednesday, Sikorski suggested that U.S. influence could be pivotal in convincing European allies to take this step.
"I can advise the U.S. on what could encourage Vladimir Putin to end the war: help us convince European allies to confiscate assets from the aggressor and transfer them to the victims of aggression," Sikorski stated.
Sikorski's remarks came in response to a discussion regarding former U.S. President Donald Trump's recent claim that he could end the war in Ukraine within 24 hours if he were re-elected.
Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba, also present at the event, was asked about concerns that the U.S. might lose interest in the security of Central Europe, including Ukraine and Poland, in the future.
Kuleba stressed the importance of the U.S. upholding its commitments to Ukraine, highlighting the broader implications for global security.
"If the U.S. fails to support Ukraine, it would undermine trust in its commitments to allies worldwide," Kuleba warned. He added that a Russian victory, though he insisted it would not happen, could embolden other nations to attempt changing borders by force, potentially sparking conflicts elsewhere, particularly in regions like Africa.
