Kyiv hit by Russian drone strike, leaving one dead

A Russian drone struck a multi-story residential building in Kyiv on Friday night, igniting fires and injuring at least four people, with one fatality, according to local officials.

Kyiv's mayor, Vitaliy Klitschko, confirmed the incident, which left several apartments ablaze in the Solomyanskyi district. Over 100 residents were evacuated.

"Damage occurred from the 17th to 21st floors, with fires on the upper levels," reported Serhiy Popko, head of Kyiv's military administration. Firefighters controlled the blaze, though extensive damage was visible, according to reports.

Simultaneously, drone fragments fell in Kyiv's Shevchenkivskyi district, causing no casualties. Air defense units were active during the hour-long raid.

Earlier, Russian missiles struck residential areas in Dnipro, killing three and injuring 14, including four children, according to local authorities.
