Russian drones struck a factory owned by Polish wood‑floor maker Barlinek in the central Ukrainian city of Vinnytsia overnight, injuring several employees, including two with severe burns, Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski said on Wednesday.
Sikorski wrote on the social media platform X that the plant was hit “deliberately, from three directions,” adding that “Putin’s criminal war is moving closer to our borders.”
Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said the strike ignited a blaze covering roughly 600 square meters. Eight fire engines and 37 rescuers extinguished the fire.
The raid on Vinnytsia formed part of what Kyiv described as a wider assault involving about 400 drones and one ballistic missile targeting industrial and civilian sites across the region.
Ukrainian emergency crews and personnel from Poland’s consulate were working at the scene, Sikorski added.
