The European Union has imposed new sanctions against Belarusian companies and financial institutions supporting Russian aggression against Ukraine. The restrictions apply to eight plants producing drones and optical-electronic equipment.

The sanctions include freezing their assets within the territory of member states and prohibiting them from providing financial support or accessing other resources from EU countries.

Additionally, restrictions have been imposed on four Belarusian banks that were previously disconnected from the SWIFT system. Transactions with these banks are now completely prohibited.

According to available data, nearly 300 Belarusian plants currently fulfill orders from the Russian military-industrial complex, which helped avoid an economic collapse in this sector and prevented mass unemployment in the country.
