Macron added the United States would present its security guarantees in the coming days, and that Ukraine would coordinate sanctions against Russia with Washington.

If Moscow continues to reject peace talks, he said, new European sanctions would follow in coordination with the United States.

Speaking after a meeting of the “Coalition of the Willing” in Paris, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said all participants recognized Russia was rejecting efforts to reach peace.

He told reporters that initial frameworks for security guarantees had been established, with each country to present details of its contribution separately.

Zelensky said he expects US participation, but insisted the guarantees must rest on a strong Ukrainian army.

He urged Europe’s defense industry to raise production to full capacity and said he had also spoken with Donald Trump about increasing pressure on Russia.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk, who represented Poland at the summit, said Europe is determined, united and in solidarity.

He added that Poland does not intend to send troops to Ukraine.
