Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said more than 40 drones flew toward the Moscow agglomeration, with 34 downed directly over the city. Interceptions continued for six hours from 22:00, he added. Local authorities temporarily closed Zhukovsky and Domodedovo airports.

One drone exploded near a multi-story building on Planernaya Street, igniting an apartment. A resident jumped out a window and landed in a tree, while several neighbors were evacuated, officials said. Russian authorities did not report overall losses in the capital.

In the Bryansk region bordering Ukraine, a drone struck a minibus, killing the driver and injuring five passengers, Governor Alexander Bogomaz said.

Russian media reported 193 drones were shot down nationwide. The Defense Ministry said additional drones were destroyed over 11 other regions, mostly in the west and south.

Anton Herashchenko, a former Ukrainian deputy interior minister, posted an unconfirmed photo said to be taken near the Kremlin on Sunday evening, noting the information had not been verified.
