According to Ukrainska Pravda, an independent Ukrainian news portal, and Polish Radio’s IAR news agency, the first mission involved two Romanian F 16s from Feteşti Air Base shortly after midnight, followed three hours later by two German Eurofighters from Mihail Kogălniceanu Air Base.

Pilots were authorised to engage any aircraft entering Romanian airspace if civilian safety was at risk.

No Russian drones or missiles crossed into Romania, and no debris was found on Romanian territory, although explosions from the strikes were reportedly audible across the border.

The Ministry condemned the attacks, highlighting the ongoing threat to Ukrainian civil infrastructure and regional security.
