In a video address, Zelensky announced consultations with European leaders focused on security, defense support, and long-term financial aid. He also confirmed substantive, though difficult, discussions with U.S. representatives about the American proposal.
Trump, speaking Sunday before the Kennedy Center Honors ceremony, said he was a little disappointed Zelensky had not read the plan. His people really like it. Russia is okay with it. Russia probably wants the whole country, but I think they agree, Trump said.

Zelenskyy spoke by phone with Trump’s envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner to discuss efforts to stop bloodshed and prevent future Russian aggression. He said he expects details about recent U.S.-Russia talks in Moscow and will receive briefings from Ukrainian military leaders who met with American officials in Florida last week.

Some issues, Zelensky added, can only be discussed face-to-face. Meetings are planned in London and Brussels. He thanked Witkoff and Kushner for their willingness to negotiate “24/7.”

On Monday, Zelensky is set to meet British Prime Minister Keir Starmer, French President Emmanuel Macron, and German Chancellor Friedrich Merz in London to discuss the U.S. proposals.
