"This was another night of Russian terror," ministry spokesman Maciej Wewiór told Polish Radio. "It happened at night, so the consular team was limited at the time and no one was hurt."
Wewiór said the consulate sustained damage to its windows and façade, but "there was no extensive destruction." Repairs will be necessary, but he emphasized the consulate will continue operating.
The attack on Odesa was part of a wider Russian assault targeting multiple Ukrainian cities overnight. According to Ukrainian authorities, nearly 300 attack drones and 25 missiles, including ballistic ones, were launched, striking energy infrastructure and killing four people.
Among the civilian sites hit was Odesa’s Vocational School of Construction and Architecture. Ukrainian air defenses managed to intercept many drones and some missiles, but 24 targets were hit, including in Kharkiv and the power plant in Kryvyi Rih.
