The General Staff of Ukraine’s Armed Forces said the training is “exclusively practical” and aimed at directly improving soldiers’ performance in combat.
“The program focuses on directly increasing the survivability rate and combat effectiveness of Ukrainian soldiers on the battlefield,” the General Staff said in a statement posted on Facebook.
According to the military, firearms training includes dynamic shooting and live-fire exercises in varied tactical scenarios designed to mirror real combat conditions. Engineering troops are trained in the safe handling of explosives, as well as mine-laying and demining procedures.
Ukrainian soldiers also undergo combat medical training, practicing care for wounded personnel under enemy fire and stabilizing casualties directly on the battlefield.
“Work with technical equipment includes practical training in operating and carrying out basic repairs of weapons and military equipment provided by partners,” the General Staff added.
The military said the comprehensive nature of the training equips troops with skills that have a direct impact on mission effectiveness and saving lives at the front.
The EU Military Assistance Mission in support of Ukraine, known as EUMAM Ukraine, was established by the EU in October 2022 in response to Russia’s invasion. Its goal is to strengthen Ukraine’s armed forces through individual, collective and specialized training conducted across EU member states and coordinated with international partners.
