The event, titled Notes of Hope: A Concert for Maternity and Neonatal Care in Ukraine, took place on 1 February at the headquarters of The Kościuszko Foundation in New York. It focused on funding urgently needed medical equipment for hospitals operating under wartime conditions.

As reported by Mezha.net, quoting the Polish state news agency PAP, the funds will be used primarily to purchase mobile Butterfly ultrasound machines, essential for diagnosing patients in basements and shelters during air raids.

The concert was organised by the 113th Chapter of the Union of Ukrainian National Women's League of America (UNWLA), led by Karina Tarnavska, and included a charity auction that contributed significantly to the total raised.

Speaking at the event, Tarnavska said that sustained Russian attacks on civilian infrastructure had created a stark reality in which, she claimed, three deaths now occur for every birth in Ukraine.

The evening featured a performance by Kyiv-based pianist Pavlo Gintov, while Poland’s Vice-Consul in New York, Krzysztof Płaski, highlighted the importance of Ukrainian-Polish civic cooperation in the United States.

Since the start of Russia’s full-scale invasion, more than 2,500 attacks on Ukrainian medical facilities have been recorded, including 82 maternity hospitals.

All proceeds from the concert will be distributed directly to medical institutions through verified humanitarian channels.
