Polish foreign ministry spokesman Maciej Wewiór said on Friday that Poland viewed the attacks "with deep indignation," calling the deaths of civilians and the strike on Latvia's Honorary Consulate in eastern Ukraine further evidence of "barbarity" and a blatant violation of international law.
“We express our deepest sympathy to the families of the victims," Wewiór said. "We express our full solidarity with our Latvian and Ukrainian partners."
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on X that a Russian attack on the Kyiv region killed 10 people and wounded dozens.
Authorities issued a ballistic missile alert for Kyiv, the surrounding region and several other parts of Ukraine at 11:25 p.m. local time on Friday. Airspace monitoring channels later reported missiles approaching the capital from the north.

A separate strike on Sloviansk, in the eastern Donetsk region, killed five people and injured nine, according to Vadym Filashkin, head of the regional military administration.
He said the attack damaged 10 private homes, a business and the premises of Latvia's Honorary Consulate.
