"I confirm with deep sorrow the death of a Polish volunteer in Ukraine who was killed as a result of Russian military action," foreign ministry spokesman Maciej Wewiór said on Tuesday.
"We extend our deepest condolences to his loved ones," he added.
Wewiór appealed for the family's privacy to be respected and said the foreign ministry and Poland's diplomatic mission in Ukraine were ready to provide all available consular assistance.
The death was first announced on July 30 by the humanitarian group Together for Ukraine, where the volunteer served as an administrator of its social media platform, Polish state news agency PAP reported.
According to the group, he was fatally struck by a Russian drone in the northeastern Ukrainian city of Kharkiv around July 27.
Media reports identified the victim as Marek Rusek-Wolski, who regularly travelled to Ukraine with humanitarian aid deliveries, bringing supplies to communities near the front lines in the war with Russia.
