"Raytheon Co., Tewksbury, Massachusetts, was awarded a $1,216,207,829 firm-fixed-price contract for the procurement of National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile Systems, associated equipment, services and spares in support of the efforts in Ukraine," the Pentagon said a statement, as cited by the Ukrainian state news agency Ukrinform.

"Work will be performed in Tewksbury, Massachusetts, with an estimated completion date of Nov. 28, 2025," the statement added.

The United States on November 23 announced a new USD 400 million arms package for Ukraine's defence against Russia.

White House National Security Council spokeswoman Adrienne Watson said at the time that the new security assistance package would include additional munitions for the National Advanced Surface-to-Air Missile System (NASAMS) and heavy machine guns.

Thursday is day 281 of Russia's war in Ukraine.
