The German Chair of the Bundestag's Defence Committee has expressed, on the German ZDF television station, her dissatisfaction with the lack of progress in German support for Ukraine's war efforts.
"We could at least give our partners the green light as a gesture," she said, referring to German opposition to delivering German-made Leopard tanks. German agreement to the delivery of Leopards may be formally or practically required, although this has been questioned by Polish leaders.
Strack-Zimmermann criticised Chancellor Scholz's communication in this matter as a "disaster", emphasizing that the German people are firmly behind Ukraine.
She summarised her criticism, "History is watching and Germany just failed the test."
