Italian Prime Minister rules out sending fighter jets to Ukraine "for the time being"

Giorgia Meloni, the Italian Prime Minister, has made her first visit to Kyiv and paid her respects to the victims of the Bucha massacre. However, she has ruled out sending fighter jets to Ukraine at the present time.

Although Meloni said that no peace based on "Ukrainian capitualtion" could be a lasting peace and that Italy "would not hesitate" in its support of Ukraine, she emphasized that fighter jets could only be sent as part of a joint international decision.
