The drones are expected to be deployed against Ukrainian energy infrastructures.

The US-based Institute for Science and International Security (ISIS) has analyzed satellite images confirming the factory's location in Tatarstan, about 800 kilometers east of Moscow. The think tank's report indicates that this facility will focus on the large-scale production of the Shahed-136 model.

Despite the strategic implications, the ISIS report highlights that neither the United States nor its allies have yet imposed sanctions on the owner of the factory, JSC Alabuga, or its associated entities.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recently urged the nation to brace for potential Russian attacks on its energy infrastructure, recalling similar incidents that occurred last winter.
