According to a statement by the US Department of Defense, the new package will provide Ukraine with additional capabilities to meet its most urgent needs, including munitions for rocket systems and artillery and anti-tank weapons.
The package contains ammunition for High Mobility Artillery Rocket Systems (HIMARS); 155mm and 105mm artillery ammunition; 60mm and 81mm mortar rounds; unmanned aerial systems; and Tube-launched, Optically tracked, Wire-guided (TOW) missiles, according to the Pentagon.
Washington will also provide Kyiv with Javelin and AT-4 anti-armor systems; small arms and ammunition; and demolitions equipment and munitions.
Other capabilities include "Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear protective equipment," spare parts and ancillary equipment, the statement said.
Since Russia invaded Ukraine in February 2022, the United States has committed around USD 60.7 billion in security assistance to help the country defend itself, the US Department of Defense said.
