Zbigniew Bogucki, head of Nawrocki's office, told broadcaster Polsat News that the council would meet at 5 p.m. after consultations with parliamentary leaders to ensure all parties are represented.
Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz is expected to brief lawmakers in parliament earlier in the day.
“The council will allow all political groups to receive full information. I think the time has come for critical analysis—not against someone, but in favour of good solutions,” Bogucki said.
Poland’s military said the overnight incursions, which included 19 breaches of Polish airspace—some from neighbouring Belarus—amounted to an “act of aggression” that posed a direct threat to citizens.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk said it was the first time Russian drones had been shot down over NATO territory.
The National Security Council serves as an advisory body to the president and includes senior officials such as the Speakers of both houses of parliament, the prime minister, the defence, interior and foreign ministers, and other prominent politicians from both the government and opposition.
