The 12th annual Warsaw Security Forum is focusing on Ukraine and the future of European security.
Nearly 2,500 leaders from 90 countries, including heads of government, ministers, senior officials and global experts, have gathered to debate ways of strengthening Europe’s defenses, ensuring transatlantic unity and holding Russia accountable for its aggression in Ukraine.
One of the highlights will be the presentation on Tuesday of the 2025 Knight of Freedom Award to former NATO chief Jens Stoltenberg for his contribution to European security.
Julianne Smith, an American foreign policy adviser and former US ambassador to NATO under the Biden administration, told Danuta Isler that Russia has long relied on what she described as "gray zone tactics."

"And actually China does the same thing," she added.
"We need to band together as democratic allies, not only here in Europe and in North America but also with our friends in Asia to figure out how to develop a better toolkit to deal with these gray zone tactics," said Smith, who is one of the speakers at the Warsaw conference.
