Polish Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz said his country signed the agreement with Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, Norway and Sweden in Brussels on Wednesday.
The Norwegian-led centre, known as Camp Jomsborg, at Nowa Dęba-Lipa in the southeast of Poland near the Ukrainian border can host up to 1,200 Ukrainian soldiers at a time and serves as a symbol of allied unity and support for Kyiv’s war effort against Russia, according to Kosiniak-Kamysz.
“We are carrying out training missions for Ukrainian troops at Nowa Dęba-Lipa, among other sites. Our soldiers, together with Ukrainian instructors, will participate in drone training there,” he wrote on X on Wednesday.
Earlier this month, Kosiniak-Kamysz praised the Ukrainian army for its drone expertise.
"There is no other army in the world as well trained in drones and counter-drone systems as Ukraine’s," he said at the time.
