Greek outlet Pentapostagma said the White House informed selected partners, reportedly including Poland, several months ago that a large volume of different weapons systems would be made available through the scheme.
Under the program, interested countries would pay only for repair, upgrades and transport of the released hardware.
Citing its own sources, Pentapostagma said the Pentagon is looking to clear from storage:
- Paladin self-propelled howitzers in M109A5 and M109A6 variants
- Abrams tanks in M1A1 and M1A2 variants
- Bradley infantry fighting vehicles
- Humvee vehicles
- AH-64E Guardian Apache attack helicopters
- UH-60M Black Hawk helicopters
- Various unmanned aerial vehicles
If the Greek reports are confirmed, the prospective list could draw strong interest worldwide, as the equipment would significantly bolster many countries’ armed forces, the outlet said.
It added that Greece is particularly keen on acquiring Paladin howitzers under the initiative.
Kyiv would likely look for more Bradley vehicles, which it already operates at the front, but virtually all of the listed systems could be useful, the report said.
