Drone operators from Ukraine's 1st National Guard Corps "Azov" carried out the strike on the hidden base in Russian-occupied Novoamvrosiivka, the unit's press service reported.

The operation followed detailed reconnaissance and was executed through a series of precision strikes using Hornet drones, the unit said, adding that Russian forces had long used the site to store fuel and coordinate petroleum deliveries to units fighting at the front.

The attack damaged fuel storage tanks and other base infrastructure, and also disrupted the rail line Russian forces used to move fuel, equipment and other war materiel, according to the Azov unit. Ukrainian forces said the destruction of the base seriously disrupted the Russian supply system, and predicted Russian command would be forced to abandon the logistics point and shift part of its supply operations onto Russian territory.

The strike follows an earlier attack reported by the outlet Militarnyi, which said Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces struck the so-called "Kuban-Crimea" energy bridge on the night of July 7-8 — a key transmission link carrying electricity from mainland Russia to occupied Crimea.
