Russian forces attacked the Ukrainian capital overnight with missiles, including ballistic missiles. According to the Ukrainian air force, the air raid alert lasted about 50 minutes.
"Russian ballistic missiles again struck Kyiv tonight. The attack caused fires and destruction in several districts of the Ukrainian capital. The free world's response cannot be war fatigue, but even greater determination to combat Russian terror," Kosiniak-Kamysz wrote on the X platform.
"We are doing everything we can to ensure that Poles never have to wake up to the sound of sirens and explosions. That is why we are strengthening our own defense, supporting Ukraine—which is depleting the Kremlin's military capabilities—and developing strategic alliances within NATO and the European Union," he added.
Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said falling debris ignited fires in at least three districts. One blaze broke out on two floors of a multi-story apartment building in the central part of the city.
The Reuters news agency cited unofficial online channels showing fires in various areas of Kyiv.
The strikes came after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned on Friday that new Russian attacks were likely within the next 48 hours.
